【Artist Baton】
◆Your name?
*sigh* oh well, lets just put it out there... Tina... but on here i really perfer Roxxie |D
◆If possible, your age?
um, you were lucky with the name, lets leave the creepers with that, shall we?
◆When did you start drawing?
actually ever since i could walk really... my parents always had a coloring book for me wherever we went, and a designated table in our living room for crayons and shit.... theres actually a home video of a family xmas when i was 4, where everyone is opening gifts and i got this huge-ass pail of crayons. it shows me staggering out of the room and for a solid hour -on christmas morning, when normal kids usually want to go ape-shit opening toys and whatnot- i'm siting there doodling to my hearts content, happy as can be
◆Which hand do you use for drawing?
imma righty... but i broke my right wrist a few years ago and i had to do everything lefty for months

so i kindof learned to do quite a bit of techniques using both... so i guess i'm a tad ambidextrous?
◆Which is easier to draw - male or female?
FEEEEEMALE D: ... which is ironic, seeing as i have only introduced male OCs as of yet... but i just find females have so much more interest to their form than males - for obvious reasons lol. males are very vertical and linear, whereas a female has cures and lines that make posing them so much fun and which is sooo intriguing to me as an artist...but not to be biast, i try to practice each in equal amounts (even if i don't post them all

)
<<KITTY'S BAAACK>>◆Which is easier to draw - long hair or short hair?
hmm, well i'd have to say their both pretty much the same for me... i just tend to have a problem with covering the hairlines on short hair around the forehead... so they more often than not end up with bangs of some sort

... but what i really have a problem with is curly hair... I JUS CAN' DO IT D:
◆Is it easier to draw the head facing towards the right or the left?
-consulting sketchbook- uuum it really doesn't seem that consciously choose one side more than the other.... maybe i slightly lean to facing them to the left?
◆Is it easier to draw the side view of the face or the front view?
oh this peeves me so much... i tend to do all my forms with a slight tilt of the face so that you get like a 3/4 frontal view, but not all side or front view... i'm not really confident enough in my skills to do a proper front view.... i can never make the eyes look symmetrical or something and they end up looking retarded... i'm working on that one...
◆What do you have problems in drawing?
Eyes and expression. it takes me forEVER to get the face to express what i want it to... and for all the features to match and add up to a definable emotion.... uuuugh.... also shoes/hands... i can never get them to look right.
◆What do you like to draw?
anything that involves some sort of outlandish posing or movement... gawd
damn do i love me some movement.... i like to push my abilities and challenge myself my attempting such poses.... which usually ends in multiple failures, but once in a while something good

...also anatomy is actually a fun thing for me to do, i feel i have a pretty steady handle on it right now and i like trying to improve it.
◆Are you a traditional artist or a digital artist?
both. it really depends on what i have on hand when inspiration whacks me over the head in some form or another... you all know what i mean

... i guess i really like the mixed media route, i like drawing and inking on physical paper and then either inking again and coloring digitally or just coloring digitally.
◆Where do you start drawing from?
as a rule of thumb, i always start sketching out my ideas from the core of the form... especially with animals and humans... i never start from the head or anything if i can avoid it. i find it a lot easier to get the correct anatomical proportions from starting at the core and working your way outward
◆What is your drawing habit that you are aware of?
lets see, i sit leaning up on something so that my knees can bend, providing a surface to put my sketchbook on so its facing up, right at me... i can't really do the whole flat, horizontal surface thing... i just end up hunched over anyways... i also tend to find convenient places for my utensils... behind ear, in my teeth, down my shirt, etc.... also i have a problem with blinking, i tend to forget about it...
◆What do you keep in mind when you do lineart?
i try to keep smooth, clean lines with as little sketchy, speraticness as possible... it just makes for more to erase later.
◆Any tips for coloring/shading?
always keep in mind that just because something is a certain color, does NOT mean thats the only color you can use in it to make the value vary. don't just add a darker or lighter version of the same color to create shadow and highlights, go for compliments and things of that nature to do it... play around with the colors and see what mixes well to get the desired result
◆How long does it take to finish a piece of art?
HA! you all know that it takes me forever to do ANYTHING. i have artists A.D.D. and i get bored really quick... so i tend to have multiple projects going at any given time
◆What music do you listen to while you draw?
haha well about that... about 85% of what i do is actually inspired by a song or lyric that i hear, so i am VERY influence by music... so when i randomly hear something that pops a really awesome image in my head, regardless of what it is, i'll usually play it on repeat til i get the piece done, by which point i usually don't what to hear it for a week after that hahhahahaha
◆How long does it take you to come up with an idea?
more often than not they are instantaneous or within a few minutes.. like i said above, i am extremely influenced by music so -letting you peek into the eerie place thats in my skull- while i'm listening to something, i usually get a mental picture or movie that goes on, which depends on what the melody, lyrics and beat consist of... from there, its just what flows out through my hand i guess
◆Your favorite drawing utensils?
my specific .5 mechanical pencil (i'm a sticker for detail so i neeeeed a small size.. and only certain ones will do), clicky eraser (oh how i love you~), micron inking pens, my canson book-bound sketchbook, my tablet, and mah photoshop

◆Your favorite color/the color that you use a lot?
black, read and white... its getting a little dull though, i need to do more colorful things :/
◆Your favorite style(s)?
oh hell... i really don't know.. i really don't have a set style i like, but i lean more toward the cartoon-esque style that extremely conscious of anatomy and makes an effort in that department... i find that admerable
◆Are you satisfied with your current art?
fairly... i mean i'm thrilled with how far i've come in a very short amount of time. i feel like i'm always making improvement and thats great! but also that means that i also have a lot of room
for improvement so thats a little dark lining on my happy cloud.
◆What kind of artist are you aiming for?
i hate to sound repetitive -sorry Malz, i'm stealin' yer answer heh- but i'm looking to fine-tune and make my style my own... which i doubt will happen, but it'd be nice for people to at least vaguely recognize what i do as my own... idk, we'll see..
◆Thank you.
